Akhilesh Yadav skillfully dodged direct inquiries about his party’s stance on a potential united Opposition front for next year’s upcoming general elections. Instead, he repeated his slogan for Uttar Pradesh, “Defeat 80, Remove BJP.”
During an NDTV Conclave in Lucknow, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav unveiled his strategy to counter the ruling BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. He says the key to victory lies in the combination of PDA; Pichde (Backward Classes), Dalit, and Alpasankhyak (Minorities). Yadav expressed confidence that this alliance of marginalized communities would successfully overcome the NDA (National Democratic Alliance) and emerge triumphant.
Akhilesh Yadav tactfully evaded direct inquiries regarding his party’s stance on a potential united Opposition front for next year’s upcoming general elections. Instead, he emphasized his singular slogan for Uttar Pradesh: “Defeat 80, Remove BJP.”
Akhilesh Yadav emphasized that if larger national parties support his party, the BJP will face defeat in all 80 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh. He reiterated his consistent stance that the allocation of seats should be determined based on the strength of each alliance partner in a specific state.
Akhilesh Yadav mentioned that his party, the Samajwadi Party, has previously formed alliances with the Congress and Mayawati’s BSP for state and national elections. He asserted that the Samajwadi Party has consistently been a truthful and cooperative partner in these alliances. He added that wherever his party has formed alliances, they have avoided disputes over seat sharing.
