WhatsApp’s screen-sharing feature bears similarity to the functionality seen on platforms like Google Meet and Zoom. It allows users to share their screens during meetings, allowing the other participants to view presentations, videos, or photos. By incorporating this screen-sharing capability, WhatsApp aims to establish itself as a strong competitor to apps such as Google Meet and Zoom.

Here are the steps to use the screen-sharing feature on WhatsApp:

  1. Open WhatsApp and go to the bottom tab.
  2. Look for the new icon next to the camera switch option.
  3. Tap on the icon to enable the screen-sharing feature.
  4. A pop-up box will notify you that your phone screen will be shared.
  5. Click on “Start Now” to initiate the screen-sharing session.
  6. You will receive a message stating, “You’re sharing your screen,” indicating that the screen sharing is now active.

WhatsApp gives you entire control over the screen-share feature, allowing you to pause or resume recording anytime. WhatsApp will ask for your permission before beginning the screen share, ensuring your approval is acquired. It’s vital to understand that WhatsApp will access all the information displayed on your screen during the screen share. This includes passwords, images, conversations, and even payment information because the messaging app requires access to such data when the screen-share feature is enabled.
