Sports: In appreciation of his achievements and goal-scoring feats, FIFA has launched a three-episode series on the life and career of talismanic Indian football team captain Sunil Chhetri.
The three episodes are now available on FIFA+, the organization’s streaming channel.
“You’ve heard of Ronaldo and Messi; now learn the complete story of the third top scoring active men’s international.” Sunil Chhetri | Captain Fantastic is now available on FIFA+,” the FIFA World Cup account stated.
Chhetri, 38, is third on the list of active footballers with the most international goals, trailing Cristiano Ronaldo (117) and Lionel Messi (84). (90).
“The first episode takes us back to the beginning…all the way up to his India debut at the age of 20.” “Apart from the man himself, the guy affectionately dubbed ‘Captain, Leader, Legend,’ close acquaintances, loved ones, and footballing colleagues help tell the tale,” states the synopsis of the first episode.
The second episode follows Chhetri as he begins to shine for the national team and pursues his big dream of playing professional football for a top-tier international club.
In the third episode, Chhetri achieves the pinnacle of his professional and personal life. Trophies accumulate, and records are broken.
Chhetri made his India debut in 2005 and has appeared in 131 games since then, including the one against Vietnam on Tuesday.
