Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother, Heeraba, died in the early hours of Friday, just days after being hospitalized. PM Modi remembered his late mother as a selfless Karmayogi whose life was dedicated to ideals.
Ahmedabad: Heeraba Modi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother, died on Friday at 100. After her condition deteriorated, she was brought to Ahmedabad’s UN Mehta Hospital and later discharged.
PM Modi posted on his official Twitter account: “A glorious century rests at the feet of God.”

“In Maa, I have always felt that trinity, which contains the journey of an ascetic, the symbol of a selfless Karmayogi, and a life committed to ideals,” the prime minister wrote alongside her photo.
“When I met her on her 100th birthday, she said one thing that I would always remember – Work with intellect, live life with purity,” he continued.
PM Modi will arrive in Ahmedabad around 7.30 a.m. According to sources, “PM Modi has left for Ahmedabad, where he will flag off the Vande Bharat train in Howrah, Kolkata, as well as other railway development projects and a meeting of the National Ganga Council, as planned. PM Modi may participate via video conference.”
On Wednesday afternoon, he visited his mother alongside Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel.
