Rohit Sharma will captain India in the ODIs against Sri Lanka, while Hardik Pandya will captain the T20Is; Rishabh Pant and Shikhar Dhawan dropped

On Tuesday evening, the BCCI confirmed the lineup for India’s next series against Sri Lanka.

Cricket: India captain Rohit Sharma will return to action in the next one-day international series against Sri Lanka, which begins on January 10, with Hardik Pandya serving as his deputy. Rohit was forced to withdraw from the Bangladesh series midway through after injuring his thumb during the second ODI, and he was later ruled out of the two-Test series that followed.

The Sri Lanka T20I squad was also named. Pandya will captain the team, with Suryakumar Yadav serving as his deputy. The series does not include senior players Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and KL Rahul. According to rumors, KL Rahul will be unavailable for the Sri Lanka series owing to personal issues, and Kohli has requested a breather. So it remains to be seen whether Kohli and Rohit will be part of India’s T20I preparations in the future.

Mukesh Kumar and Shivam Mavi both received decent bids during the previous IPL auction and earned their first India call-ups.
