Mumbai: Following a raid at a Mumbai club, former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina and Hrithik Roshan’s ex-wife Sussanne Khan were both taken into custody. Both were reportedly later released on bail.
According to reports, the arrests were made for exceeding the establishment’s permitted closing hour and transgressing Covid regulations.
A raid was carried out at the Mumbai Dragonfly club, housed at the Hotel JW Marriot in Andheri, according to a story in India Today. On Tuesday, the raid was carried out at around 2:00 am.
34 persons were detained per section 188 of the IPC, the Bombay Police Act, and the Epidemic Disease Act, including Suresh Raina, Sussanne Khan, and seven club employees. In the same raid, Punjabi singer Guru
Randhawa was also taken into custody.
According to the Mumbai Police, 34 people, including cricketer Suresh Raina and others, were arrested and charged with violating the NMDA, Sections 188 (Disobedience to Order Duly Promulgated by Public Servant), 269 (Whoever knowingly or recklessly does any act which is likely to cause the transmission of any disease dangerous to life), and 34 (Acts done by several persons in furtherance of Common Intention) of the IPC.
Suresh Raina, who, along with MS Dhoni, announced their retirement from international cricket in August of this year, will represent his home state of Uttar Pradesh (UP) in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, which will start on January 10.
Sussanne Khan, on the other hand, recently made news for her visit to the Bandra Police station. She and IAS official Abhishek Singh were seen in a widely shared video scouting the Bandra Police Station in preparation for potential restoration work. However, internet users foresaw this and linked Sussanne Khan to the ongoing drug investigation in Bollywood. Some people speculated that she might have received a call from the NCB.
