Change Aadhaar Card Address with Family Head Approval

The Family Head receives an SMS after paying ₹50 and must visit the UIDAI website to authenticate the request.

On January 3, 2023, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) stated that residents would once again be able to modify the address on their Aadhaar card by having the “head of the family” approve their request. Anyone over 18 can function as a head of the family and alter the address on a card for a relative they live with by presenting proof of their relationships, such as a marriage certificate, passport, birth certificate, or ration card.

Previously, any resident could request an address validation letter from the UIDAI. Following that, a secret code was mailed to the endorser, who would then be allowed to execute the applicant’s request for address change. This function, which did not necessitate a proof of relationship document, was phased out in 2021.
