Police in J&k Has Announced a Prize for Information About the Attackers

Hundreds of people attended the cremations of the six individuals killed, including J&K Police Chief Dilbag Singh and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Ravinder Raina.

Kashmir: Even as a federal National Investigation Agency (NIA) team visited the scene of the back-to-back attacks, police announced a ten-lakh-rupee reward for any information about the attackers involved in the killing of six civilians, including a four-year-old child, at Dhangri in Jammu & Kashmir’s Rajouri this week.

Deepak Kumar, 23, Satish Kumar, 45, Pritam Pal, 56, and Shiv Pal, 32, were assassinated on Sunday by unidentified terrorists. A day later, Vihan Sharma, 4, and Samiksha Sharma, 16, were killed when an improvised explosive device (IED) detonated near the location of the shooting.

Hundreds of people attended the six’s cremations, including J&K Police Chief Dilbag Singh and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Ravinder Raina.

Residents accused police of failing to detect the IED, which was planted on Sunday but was missed during the search. The Dhangri village chief, Dheeraj Sharma, described this as a significant security breach. “Members of the minority community do not feel safe. “The administration should take firm action,” he stated.

Another homeowner wondered why the three residences that were attacked on Sunday had not been searched and sanitized. “The IED may have been found if the houses had been thoroughly sanitized.”

According to police, the IED was hidden in a gunny bag at the door to Pritam Pal’s house. “It appears that the terrorists who fired at the three residences on Sunday evening also detonated the IED before fleeing. “The IED had a timer and was positioned at the entrance of the house that was attacked first on Sunday evening,” a police officer who asked not to be identified stated.

Manoj Sinha, the Lieutenant Governor, paid a visit to Dhangri on Monday. “This is an extremely unpleasant and tragic situation. It is the resolve of the Centre and the J&K administration to eradicate terrorism. Though fatalities cannot be compensated, I pledge to assist the families of those killed in any way I can. We have granted the security forces complete latitude, and I want to tell the public that the culprits of this attack will be punished quickly.”
