Bengaluru: A 10-year-old boy died today in Karnataka after being beaten and shoved from the first-floor balcony of a government-run school by his teacher. The police stated Muthappa, a teacher at Adarsh Primary School in Hagli village in the northern portion of the state, assaulted the youngster with a shovel. Bharat was a student of Class 4.

The reason is not evident now…prima facie, it looks like some familial issues among them,” Shivprakash Devaraju, a senior police official in Gadak district, told reporters.

Muthappa had also thrashed Bharat’s mother, Gita Barker, a teacher at the school. She is being treated at a nearby hospital.

The individual, who was a contract employee, is currently missing.

Similar Incident in Delhi

A similar event was reported at a school in Delhi last week. In a flash of rage, the instructor attacked a Class 5 pupil with scissors and tossed her from the first floor of a government school building.
