BJP politician Sonali Phogat Passed Away; Autopsy revealed “Various Injuries”: Family Alleges Rape and Poisoning

The 42-year-old actor-turned-politician died on Tuesday of a suspected heart attack in Goa, leaving her family to question the circumstances surrounding her death.

New Delhi: A murder investigation has been started into the death of BJP politician Sonali Phogat, who was discovered dead in Goa. Rinku Dhaka, her brother, alleged she was murdered by two of her colleagues who were travelling with her to Goa.

The postmortem report on BJP politician Sonali Phogat’s death on Tuesday noted “several blunt force injuries” on her body.

“Although the cause of death has been reserved, pending chemical analysis, histopathology and serological reports of the tissues preserved. However, there are multiple blunt force injuries over the body”, According to the autopsy report.

Sonali Phogat, who was from Hisar in Haryana and rose to prominence on Tik Tok, died on Tuesday morning at the St Anthony Hospital in Anjuna, North Goa district, a police officer, said earlier, adding that she died of a suspected heart attack. The police then opened an investigation into an unnatural death.

The actor-turned-politician arrived in Goa on August 22 and was staying at a hotel in Anjuna when she began feeling “uneasy” on August 23 and was rushed to the hospital, where she was certified dead.

The body is currently being held in the Goa Medical College and Hospital mortuary.

Sonali’s brother Rinku Dhaka filed a case with the Goa Police on Wednesday, accusing her personal assistant Sudhir Sangwan and his aide Sukhvinder of murder. Following that, a murder complaint was filed against the pair, and they were jailed.

“My mother is deserving of justice. The matter deserves a thorough investigation, and the perpetrators should face harsh punishment, “Yashodhara Phogat stated. She is Sonali Phogat’s 15-year-old daughter and demanded justice for her mother.
